JDS Kunisaki
JDS Kunisaki
In June 2010, the ship JDS Kunisaki from Japan came to visit us in SihanoukVille, Cambodia as part of the Pacific Partnership 2010..
As partners go, you can't do any better. The crew, made up of many medical teams, traveled throughout the country providing free medical services.
The SihanoukVille, Hospital, where medical teams swarmed around, took care of thousands of Cambodian (Khmer) patients, coming from all over the country for free medical attention.
They even drove a surgical room to the hospital from Japan (or maybe they took it on the ship?)
Arigato! (or as we say in Khmer, "Arkoon Tome Tome" (Thank you Big Big))

Many more pictures from the Pacific Partnership 2010 operations in Cambodia can be found at the SihanoukVille Hospital website and on this site about the USNS Mercy.
Also, the pre-closing, closing ceremony, a great big bash held to thank all the participants, was held on the Kunisaki. Take a look at the pictures.
